A gunman remains on the loose after a man was shot at a home in Sydney's south-west on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called to the home on Methuen Parade, Riverwood, at 6.20am after a man, aged in his 30s, was shot in the leg.
Heavily armed police descended on the area and soon rushed to a home on Kennedy Street in Picnic Point. That operation ended at 12.30pm, with no arrests made.
Earlier, police advised residents in the Kennedy Street vicinity to stay indoors as a precaution.
Acting Superintendent Elizabeth Hatfield called on the wanted man to turn himself in.
"Police have spoken to a male and he knows who he is," she told reporters on Wednesday afternoon. "It would be preferable if he handed himself in."
Another man and woman present at the Riverwood address where the shooting took place voluntarily accompanied police to Campsie police station in the morning after speaking to negotiators.
At least eight NSW Ambulance crews, including a specialist medical team, attended the Riverwood home.
The injured man was treated at the scene and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition. Police are waiting to speak to him once he is cleared by hospital staff.
Inquiries are continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
