Residents of a busy street in one of Sydney’s most exclusive suburbs awoke to heavily armed tactical police officers swarming a home during an hours-long police operation.
Prince Albert Street in Mosman was closed off just after 7am on Tuesday, when officers executed a firearms prohibition order, NSW Police said in a statement.
Residents told the Mosman Collective website that officers entered a home near the Buena restaurant and removed a man “very quickly”.
“When the riot squad van turned up, we were very alarmed, and police had a loudhailer they were using to warn the man they were coming for him,” a resident told the Mosman Collective.
NSW Police said an 18-year-old man and another man, whose age was unknown, were spoken to by officers at the scene. No arrests have been made and inquiries were ongoing, police said.
Prince Albert Street was earlier closed but has since reopened. The operation had concluded by about 9.30am, police said.
