He was believed to be avoiding police after an arrest warrant was issued in September.

The man and a 26-year-old woman, who lived at the home, were arrested and taken to Newtown police station.

He was charged with shooting with intent to murder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The woman was charged with possession of an unauthorised pistol and of a prohibited drug.

Police said the woman’s mobile phone contained multiple videos of her holding a Browning handgun.

They have been refused bail and are to appear at Newtown Local Court on Friday.
