Police have charged four people in Goulburn during investigations into an alleged criminal network supplying ice and other drugs in the area.
Homes throughout the city, south-west of Sydney, were searched shortly after 6am on Wednesday when police executed four search warrants.
Officers allegedly found cannabis, methylamphetamine, prescription drugs, weapons, cash and electronic devices that will all undergo forensic examination.
Two men – aged 32 and 54 – and two women – aged 22 and 52 – were arrested and taken to Goulburn police station.
The women and the younger man were refused bail and will appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday afternoon.
The 54-year-old man was refused bail and will appear at the same court on Thursday.
They are facing multiple charges of supplying prohibited drugs. The 52-year-old woman and 32-year-old man are also accused of supplying drugs on an ongoing basis.
The 54-year-old man will face court at a later date, charged with selling an ice pipe and supplying a prohibited drug.
More than 80 charges were laid in total.
Southern Region Operations Manager Detective Superintendent Kevin McNeil said the arrests would have a major impact on drug supply throughout the Goulburn area.
“Taking drug suppliers off our streets is another way we are continuing to tackle crime in our regional towns and communities,” he said.
“The supply of drugs in regional towns has a major impact on our community, and it simply won’t be tolerated.”
Police said the arrests followed extensive investigations into the supply of ice and other prohibited drugs throughout the region, after the creation of Strike Force Koombahla in September last year.
The arrests were made by strike force officers, with the assistance of the dog unit and The Hume Police District.
Investigations are continuing.
