Police and council rangers are searching for an escaped bull that broke through the fence of a high school in Sydney's north on Tuesday night.
The steer was brought to Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview, where it was part of an agricultural education program.
"The college has concerns regarding the welfare and safety of the animal as well as concerns for any potential injury that may be caused to any member of the local community which may be incurred due to the steer roaming in a highly urbanised area," the school said in a statement.
"The college welcomes support from the local community in providing any information regarding the animal's location so that we can safely collect and return him to the Riverview farm."
After the steer escaped from the school at Lane Cove, search patrols were established by both NSW Police and rangers for Lane Cove Council.
"Our rangers have done some drive-bys and looking, but we haven't had any recent reports of anyone seeing it," a spokesperson for Lane Cove council said.
Sydney has become somewhat of a hotspot for out-of-place animals on the loose, after a pair of deer roamed around the city a couple of weeks ago, and three baboons escaped from a hospital in February.
