Bobcat used in ATM theft in southern NSW

By Rachel Clun

Thieves have used a bobcat to break into a shopping centre in southern NSW and steal an ATM, police say.

The bobcat was driven through the front doors of the shopping centre at Moama and used to push over a freestanding ATM, before removing it from the building.

Another freestanding ATM was extensively damaged and remained inside the centre. The bobcat was abandoned outside.

Police were called to the shopping centre on Perricoota Road about 4.30am on Monday following the incident.

Officers do not yet know how the ATM was taken away from the shopping centre, and it is unclear how many people were involved in the theft.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Moama Police or Crime Stoppers.
