Hunt for white van as search for police officer and missing men continues

Detectives are desperately searching for a white van they believe was being driven by Constable Beau Lamarre, the police officer who has been arrested over the disappearance of eastern suburbs couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.

They have appealed for anyone who knows the location of the Toyota HiAce with NSW registration CW82PM, or who has seen the vehicle since Monday evening, to contact them immediately

CCTV obtained by 7 News appears to show the van and the missing couple near Baird’s Paddington terrace on Monday night, the last day friends or family reported seeing the pair.

In the vision, which was captured from a neighbour’s property, Baird and Davies appear to sit and talk on a park bench on Brown Street.

Moments later the white van drives past the couple, appearing to mount the kerb as it rounds the corner towards Cooper Street – a no-through road.

At 10.30am on Friday, Lamarre – Baird’s former partner – walked into Bondi police station. He will be transferred to Waverley police station where investigations will continue.

The CCTV vision came to light after bloodied clothing found in a skip bin behind the police station in Cronulla on Wednesday led police to Baird’s Paddington terrace, which they found was covered in blood.

Neither Baird, a 26-year-old former Channel Ten presenter, nor his flight attendant partner Davies, 29, have been seen since Monday, when neighbours heard arguing from the home.

Police are in the process of conducting registration checks, but do not yet know if the van belongs to him or someone else.

Investigators had on Thursday seized three vehicles – two from Paddington and one from a third, undisclosed location.

One of those cars belonged to Baird, and a second to Davies.

Investigators have also seized the bloody clothing that led them to the home, credit cards, an iPhone and a number of personal items from Davies’ Waterloo home.

Detectives on Thursday night swooped on a home on Balmain’s Waite Avenue connected to Lamarre’s family.

“Officers seized a number of items. No further information regarding items taken from the property is available at this time,” police said in a statement.

“Investigations into the matter are ongoing.”
