By Kim Stephensq
A man has been stabbed in the chest during a fight outside a Toowong restaurant on Monday night.
Police were called to the Mariosarti restaurant in Sherwood Road just before midnight, amid reports of a fight.
They found the 26-year-old with a stab wound to the chest. It is not yet known if the attack was random.
He was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for treatment. The wound is not considered life threatening.
It is not the first time the restaurant has been in the news.
Two years ago, its former co-owner Peter Milos was bludgeoned to death in his Morningside home, allegedly by an associate, James Thomas Howell, who has been committed to stand trial for murder.
Meanwhile, in a separate attack in Carina on Monday night, a 58-year-old man was hospitalised after being assaulted in his home by two balaclava-clad men who burst in demanding cigarettes about 10.15pm.
They bashed the man in the face before fleeing.
He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he was treated for facial injuries.
