Feeling off-colour, Sarah went home earlier than planned.
Opening the front door quietly so as not to wake anyone, she was confronted by some sight: her parents going for it in the lounge room like alley cats on heat.
And her mum in a cowboy hat! Grateful for their obliviousness, Sarah, ashen-faced, crept upstairs to her room.
She emerged mid-morning to find them in their dressing gowns in the kitchen. Her father was whistling. Her mum was still wearing the hat! “Sar, darling!” she said, “How was your night?”
“Life-changing,” Sarah answered.
“Sounds wonderful,” her mother said.
