MCA Cafe
Cafe
The recent extension of the Museum of Contemporary Art has created, among other things, an extraordinary space for a cafe. The white-on-white fourth floor space is flooded with light, and gives you spectacular harbour vistas for the price of a cup of smooth Republica coffee ($3.80). It draws a good mixed crowd of arties, locals and in-the-know tourists, with a menu from Fresh Catering that ticks all the boxes from morning muffins to quinoa salads and a BLT with shoestring fries. The Hany Armanious 4-tonne sculpture of the inner ear on the broad Loti Smorgon Sculpture Terrace puts all that external beauty into context.
