Gregory Green leads a new breed of green energy entrepreneurs on the Financial Review Young Rich List, after the 37-year-old from a northern NSW sugarcane family sold his share of a landfill gas developer for a nine-figure sum.

Green was one of four partners at Atlanta-based MAS Energy when its portfolio of seven landfill gas-based projects, mainly in the American Midwest, was bought by Los Angeles-based infrastructure developer CIM Group in September 2022.
