Trump tells Putin not to escalate in Ukraine
Washington | President-elect Donald Trump told Vladimir Putin on Thursday (Friday AEDT) not to escalate the war in Ukraine, reminding the Russian president of Washington’s sizable military presence in Europe.
Trump took a call from the Russian leader in his resort in Florida, according to people close to the president-elect, and the two men discussed the goal of peace on the European continent. Trump expressed an interest in follow-up conversations to discuss “the resolution of Ukraine’s war soon”, several of the people said.
