Trump’s new energy secretary linked to Beetaloo Basin gas project
Washington | Chris Wright, Donald Trump’s nomination for energy secretary, is linked to the expansion of gas production in Australia through a fracking project in the Northern Territory.
Mr Wright is founder and chief executive of engineering group Liberty Energy, which teamed with Tamboran Resources Corporation to begin the biggest single drilling operation in the gas-rich Beetaloo Basin this year, just as the Albanese government announced a gas strategy that locked in the fuel’s use beyond 2050.
