Washington | Donald Trump accused prosecutors of “pathetic” and deliberate attempts to derail his White House campaign after he was charged on Tuesday (Wednesday AEST) with trying to overturn the 2020 election result, his third indictment in recent months.
The former president was charged with four crimes including conspiracy to defraud the US by meddling in the results of the 2020 election, depriving Americans of their right to a fair election and trying to stop certification of Joe Biden’s victory.
