The great debate: watch it again
That's a wrap for The Australian Financial Review's live coverage of the first debate between US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
The 90-minute debate was marked by personal attacks, interruptions and many of the shaky or unsubstantiated claims about voting irregularities, the coronavirus pandemic and other topics that Mr Trump has made during the campaign.
Analysts say it was one of the most chaotic and messy debates in memory, with Mr Trump setting the tone and Mr Biden getting drawn into the knock-down, drag-out fight.
There was no knockout blow for either side, and the impact of the debate on undecided voters is unknown. With Mr Trump trailing in the polls and mocking Mr Biden in recent months as frail to the point of needing drugs to do well, the Democratic candidate entered the prime time spectacle with the least to lose.
Whether Mr Trump's belligerent tone achieves the poll boost he badly needs is also yet to be seen. Watch a full replay of the debate below, and join us on October 8 for the debate between Republican Vice President Mike Pence and his Democratic challenger Kamala Harris.
