On a crisp autumn morning in downtown New York City this week, Donald Trump was at a September 11 memorial ceremony paying his respects to the people who died in the 2001 terror attacks.

It was the morning after he had been defeated in the first presidential debate by rival nominee Vice President Kamala Harris, who stood just a few feet away at the memorial.
