Washington | US Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to pick her running mate within the next week, ahead of a campaigning blitz in the battleground states that she must win to beat Donald Trump in the November 5 election.

Among the leading contenders are prominent Democrat politicians from swing states, where issues such as immigration and inflation have cost both President Joe Biden and Ms Harris support in polls.
