Bannon held in criminal contempt of Congress
Washington | Steve Bannon, a some-time adviser to former president Donald Trump, was held in criminal contempt of Congress for defying subpoenas from a panel investigating the January 6 riot at the US Capitol, a move that puts the Justice Department in the middle of a politically charged legal battle.
The vote was 229 to 202, with nine Republicans breaking ranks with their party leaders and joining all Democrats in voting “yes”.
