Washington | Australia will provide its largest single military package to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion, committing $250 million in weapons and equipment and becoming an operational partner sending personnel to a new NATO security and training initiative.

The commitment comes just days after Russia’s heaviest bombardment of Kyiv in almost four months, which has galvanised support for Ukraine among Western leaders at a NATO summit in Washington in the hope the country can survive Europe’s biggest conflict since World War II.
