Washington | Amy Coney Barrett, Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee, has been portrayed by Democrats as a threat to Americans' healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic, while Republicans defended her commitment to the rule of law.
The two sides clashed over whether to confirm Judge Barrett in the opening hours of the Senate judiciary committee hearing into her nomination on Monday (Tuesday AEDT).
