Martina Navratilova has accused Wimbledon of letting politics “destroy tennis” and urged them to rethink their decision to ban Russian and Belarusian players from this summer’s championships.
The All England Lawn Tennis Club issued a blanket ban due to the invasion of Ukraine and a possible public relations disaster in the form of a trophy presentation to a Russian player on Centre Court by members of the Royal family.
