If Theresa May secures an increased majority in the House of Commons on June 8 as most pundits expect, she will be in a much stronger position domestically to define Britain's new relationship with Europe.
However, even a thumping election victory will give the British Prime Minister almost no additional leverage in negotiations with EU leaders whose reasons for wanting to impose a tough exit on the British have not changed.
