US warns China on support for Russia’s war in Ukraine

London/Washington | The US has warned China that its relationship with Russia has become a global concern, and “it won’t stand by” if Beijing aids President Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine.

According to an official White House briefing, National Security adviser Jake Sullivan on Monday (Tuesday AEDT) told his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi that the US had “deep concerns about China’s alignment with Russia at this time”, and “was direct about those concerns and the potential implications and consequences of certain actions”.
