Fewer aristocrats: Starmer lays out left-wing vision
London | Britain’s new Labour prime minister, Keir Starmer, late on Wednesday (AEST) unveiled a strongly left-wing program for his government, including nationalising the railways and ramping up workers’ rights.
The parliamentary program of up to 40 planned laws will also cut red tape for property developers, step up state-led investment in infrastructure and green energy, and expunge the last hereditary aristocrats from the House of Lords.
