Greensill collapse thrusts reclusive ex-PM back into spotlight
London | Former British prime minister David Cameron is caught in an increasingly tight political squeeze over his lobbying work for the collapsed empire of Australian financial entrepreneur Lex Greensill.
The Conservative leader, who quit in 2016 after losing the Brexit referendum, faces an official probe into his reported lobbying last year for Greensill, which is said to have targeted Chancellor Rishi Sunak and senior officials at the Treasury and the Bank of England.
