Corbyn asks UK Parliament to make him PM, postpone Brexit
London | Britain's Labour Opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn has vowed to try to block an October no-deal Brexit when Parliament returns next month, writing to other parties on Wednesday (Thursday AEST) urging them to back a no-confidence vote in Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
But his insistence that he must lead a temporary "unity" government to avert a no-deal Brexit on October 31 - even if just to call an election and postpone the Brexit date - has put several of the minor parties offside, probably scuppering his chances of success.
