Britain set to prolong lockdown despite fears of economic fallout

London | Britain looks set to hunker down for another three weeks of lockdown, despite an official forecast of the potentially calamitous economic impact – and even as countries on the Continent begin loosening the screws.

According to British media reports, the government is on Thursday (Friday AEST) set to announce that the tight restrictions on domestic movement and work in Britain – which are much stricter than in Australia – will stay in place until at least May 7.
