Australia to reopen embassy in Ukraine

London | The Albanese government will reopen Australia’s embassy in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, Foreign Minister Penny Wong has announced, ending a long-running controversy.
Senator Wong travelled to Ukraine on Wednesday (AEDT) and visited the site of the embassy, which was evacuated by the former coalition government in early 2022, shortly after Russia’s February 24 invasion.
