Warship deployed as China, Philippines clashes raise tensions

Australia has dispatched its most powerful warship for exercises with Asian navies, after dramatic clashes between Philippines and Chinese ships escalated tensions in the South China Sea.
The four-month regional deployment, spearheaded by the destroyer HMAS Sydney, looms as a test for improved military-to-military communications agreed to on Monday by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Canberra.
