China eases virus curbs as trade sinks

Tokyo | China further eased COVID-19 restrictions on Wednesday as data showed that trade last month sunk to its weakest level since the start of the pandemic.
Health authorities made it easier for some infected people to quarantine at home, amid further signs that President Xi Jinping’s excessive COVID-19 restrictions disrupted factory output and softened business and consumer demand for imports.
