Manila | The last day of campaigning in the Philippines presidential election produced massive rallies in the capital Manila as supporters of Leni Robredo, the only candidate with a chance of defeating Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos jnr, hope for an upset win in Monday’s election.

Months of campaigning has left the country split between a progressive movement backing Ms Robredo, the present vice president, and Marcos jnr supporters who are unfazed at the prospect of being ruled by the son of Ferdinand Marcos snr, who was forced out of power and into exile in 1986.
