King to pitch new gas investment rules to Japan, Korea

Tokyo | The Albanese government will this week seek to assure two of Australia’s biggest energy export markets, Japan and South Korea, that it remains a reliable gas partner under new rules designed to address legal challenges to billions of dollars worth of oil and gas projects.

Resources Minister Madeleine King will also tell investors and government officials in Tokyo on Monday that she has significant concerns the world does not recognise Australia’s high environmental standards for nickel and lithium production amid a supply glut of the key commodities.
