Mario was trapped inside a university under siege for more than 40 hours before he made his great escape.
Like the hundreds of other young protesters barricaded inside the Hong Kong Polytechnic University earlier this week, the 23-year-old was exhausted and scared. Food and water were running out and police were threatening to use live ammunition if they did not surrender.
