Shanghai/Canberra | The Morrison government has rejected China's claims as "disinformation" that its citizens risked being arbitrarily searched and having their assets seized in Australia, saying law enforcement agencies acted within the law.

China's Foreign Ministry upgraded its travel advice for Australia late Monday, warning of an increase in racial discrimination and violence in a warning which reflects rising hostilities between the two countries.
