China doubles down on zero-COVID strategy

On the outskirts of the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, an enormous complex the size of 46 football ovals has sprung up apparently overnight.
Aerial photos of the Guangzhou International Health Station published by state media show rows of grey three-storey buildings under construction away from densely populated areas. The purpose-built facility includes 5000 rooms able to accommodate overseas arrivals for two weeks or more.
