Myanmar's National League for Democracy (NLD) is expected to be returned to government in November, despite leader Aung San Suu Kyi's fall from grace since the 2015 election that ended five decades of military domination in the south-east Asian country.
The country's State Counsellor – Ms Suu Kyi is constitutionally barred from being president – will play a big role in the NLD's efforts to hold on to the power gained when it romped home in the last national election five years ago.
