Senior CFMEU official sacked over ‘accepting bribes’

One of the most senior officials in the CFMEU Victoria branch, who was recently promoted by the union administration, has been fired over allegations that he took bribes and other corrupting benefits from labour hire firms.

CFMEU administrator Mark Irving, KC, sent a message to Victorian delegates late on Thursday that Victorian branch co-ordinator John Perkovic’s role was no longer tenable due to “compelling” evidence of the allegations.
