Kate George is set to become one of few Indigenous women to chair an ASX-listed company as she continues a remarkable journey that started when she was born alongside the Rabbit Proof Fence in remote Western Australia and later became a member of the stolen generation.

Dr George will become chairman of mining company Ten Sixty Four (X64) later this month in the latest career-first for the trailblazing Putejurra woman from the Murchison-Gascoyne region.
