Because many do-it-yourself super funds can have a lot of money available for investment, they face the prospect of being targeted by promoters of financial investments and investment ideas that go beyond traditional investments.

With 30 per cent of the 540,000 DIY funds having more than $1 million in savings, it is not surprising this is happening.
