Why earnings season is so crucial for share prices
The reporting season is so important because it is the most reliable predictor of share price movements. Statistically, earnings revisions are the best indicator of future moves in a stock.

Investors want that information before reporting season because the information revealed by company management can change a stock’s (and an investor’s) fortunes.
