This gig economy player is not expecting to be hit by any jobs reforms
Airtasker CEO Tim Fung expects the government to introduce gig economy changes at this week’s jobs summit, but believes the marketplace will be insulated from any sweeping reforms thanks to the alignment of its business model with the earnings of workers on the platform.
The platform was founded in 2012 and lets people post tasks and hire people to complete all manner of jobs from household cleaning to Ikea furniture assembly and roof repairs. Once a task has been posted, so-called “taskers” can apply to complete the job and the set the price they will charge.
