Google attempts to downplay fears over Huawei ban
Google has attempted to downplay the immediate impact to consumers of a potentially crushing blow to the smartphone business of Chinese tech giant Huawei, after it said future versions of its handsets would not get updates of the Android operating system or access to its popular app store.
On Monday, Reuters reported Google was banning Huawei in compliance with a United States government decision to blacklist the Chinese company, but later said that Android would still work for customers using existing phones.
