Super funds, CSL pour $270m into venture capital fund

Superannuation funds Hostplus and HESTA, biotech giant CSL and the Queensland Investment Corporation have poured $270 million into a new fund for venture capital firm Brandon Capital, which it plans to keep raising until it hits a $350 million target.

Brandon Capital is Australia’s largest life science investment fund, having started with a $30 million fund in 2007, and since raising more than $1 billion across its funds to invest in healthcare and biotech start-ups. Its latest fund will be known as Brandon Biocatalyst 6.
