Meet the air force commander in charge of Australia’s cyber defences
Australia’s first national cybersecurity coordinator says his task of leading the country’s response to major incidents is already under way, as he looks to manage the damage limitation exercise at law firm HWL Ebsworth and avoid the chaotic breach aftermath that engulfed Optus last year.
Air Marshal Darren Goldie was appointed by the Albanese government in late June with a broad remit to lead national cyber policy, coordinate responses to major incidents, and be a focal point for organisations and the public when incidents are unfolding.
