Venture capital investor James Spenceley has resigned as chairman of jobs market Airtasker, declaring his humanitarian efforts in war-torn Ukraine demand more of his time.

Mr Spenceley has been chairman of Airtasker for eight years, guiding the Tim Fung-founded company through its 2021 IPO, and overseeing the latest cost-cutting programs that let go 20 per cent of the workforce.
