It’s the beginning of an unusually bad run of luck for Neeson, who in later movies in the franchise will be kidnapped himself, have his ex-wife kidnapped (twice) and then murdered, have his daughter kidnapped again, and his yet-to-be-born grandchild also kidnapped, though just the once.
