Former Labor adviser and Afterpay executive Damian Kassabgi has been appointed chief executive of the Tech Council of Australia, beginning the role as government talks tough on big tech.
Mr Kassabgi, who begins the new role in June, was previously a policy adviser to former Labor prime ministers Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard before moving into the aggressively expanding firms Uber and Afterpay.
