A video on one of the social media platforms has a man converting an old iPhone Pro into an iPhone 17 Pro by wrapping it in bright orange plastic, sticking a fake “plateau” around the camera bump, and putting a lighter orange sticker underneath to simulate the ceramic back panel on the new model.

Cynics might say he hasn’t done much less than Apple did when it upgraded last year’s iPhone 16 Pro to this year’s model, though that’s not why I mention it. And in any case, that’s not quite true.
