Gig economy jobs marketplace Airtasker has had a cracking start to life as a listed company, ending the day up 61.5 per cent, but CEO Tim Fung chose to focus on the long term rather than how the company performed on its first day.

Mr Fung, who co-founded the company in 2012, held onto his 12.7 per cent stake in the business through the initial public offering. Airtasker’s first day price pop made his stake worth more than $52 million.
