Entek wins more Gulf leases
The junior oil explorer has been confirmed as the high bidder on two blocks in the US Gulf of Mexico.
Some Australian junior oil explorers are not letting a good crisis go to waste and have been snapping up oil prospective offshore blocks in the Gulf of Mexico at a time when most of their larger international rivals are reluctant to spend money on exploration rights.
Entek Energy said today that it had been confirmed as joint high bidder on two blocks in the Minerals Management Service (the US government agency that conducts the sale) Central Lease Sale 213 which closed on March 17.
